Professional Discipline & Regulatory
Henderson Chambers has long-standing experience of professional regulation including acting on behalf of regulators and practitioners over many years and advising on all aspects of fitness to practise processes. Members of Chambers have appeared in many landmark and high-profile cases, both before professional bodies and in the Higher Courts. Kenneth Hamer is the author of the leading textbook Professional Conduct Casebook, published by Oxford University Press.
Our work covers a wide range of professions including health care, the law, architects, surveyors and engineers, accountants, sports professionals and financial services. We provide a high standard of excellence in this field which has become increasingly vital and complex.
Members of Chambers also regularly act as chair or legal advisor to numerous disciplinary bodies including the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (General Medical Council), the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the General Dental Council, the General Osteopathic Council, the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the Institute of Actuaries.
Members of Chambers give talks and lectures on professional disciplinary matters and we continue to play an active role in the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers, of which Roger Henderson KC was a founder member and the first chairman.
